Ingredients
-
2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, carrots, peas, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Spread the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, making sure to cover it completely. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pie is heated through and the mashed potatoes are golden and slightly crispy on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
